Medical Observer Wins in 2014 PPA Sisa Awards for Outstanding Magazine

 

MANILA, PHILIPPINES – Months after gaining two international award recognitions, Medical Observer is back on the awards stage after winning the 2014 Philippine Psychiatric Association’s (PPA) Sisa Awards for Outstanding Magazine.

The PPA membership had expressed their choices in the recently concluded voting of the different outstanding media categories- radio, print, television, cinema, and advertising that foster mental health and promote education on mental illness in the Philippines through balanced, informative, competent, professional, and compassionate use of mass media techniques.

During the year, Medical Observer has published and featured certain psychiatric issues like depression and suicide in the Philippines. (See video below)

16.) Partnership Special Award with PPA – MTRCB

The awarding ceremony will be showcased in an international arena during the 2014 Asian Federation of Psychiatry and Mental Health (AFPMH) convention which will be held at the Blue Radisson Hotel in Cebu on November 13, 2014. The Awards Night will be attended by the presidents, officers, and delegates from the different ASEAN countries.
