TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan, August 24 (PIA) – The Dr. Domingo S. De Leon General Hospital here and the Cauayan Specialty Clinic in Cauayan City recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Employees Compensation Commission (ECC) to support persons with work-related disabilities (PWRDs).
Remedios Andrada, ECC information officer, said under the agreement, the two hospitals are expected to provide PWRDs with rehabilitation services such as physical or occupational therapy sessions, provision of prosthesis, among others.
Andrada said the partnership is in response to ECC’s KaGabay program which aims to promote the welfare of workers involved in work-related contingencies.
“We tapped these hospitals to make sure that PWRDs will be immeditately assisted,” Andrada said, adding that their agency continues to negotiate with other hospitals for possible partnership regionwide.
Meanwhile, ECC Executive Director Stella Banawis said this initiative is one of the ECC’s ways of reaching out to those who need assistance and to the workers who are in their most vulnerable condition.
“We do not wait for those who are in need to come to us, instead, we reach out to them,” Banawis said. (ALM/GVB/PIA-2/Cagayan)
