CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga, Aug. 23 (PIA) — Food and Nutrition Research Institute (FNRI) of the Department of Science and Technology held Tuesday a Regional Dissemination Forum on the results of the 2015 Updating on the Nutritional Status of Filipino Children and Other Population Groups.
It aims to inform key stakeholders in the government and private sectors involved in food, nutrition, and health programs on the initial results of the updating survey.
“Topics discussed included data and information on anthropometry, adult health and nutrition, food security, households’ and members’ participation in selected nutrition and related government programs, maternal health and nutrition, socio-economic status, and infant and young child feeding practices,” FNRI Director Mario Capanzana said. “Aside from the presentation of data, the forum will also serve as a venue for inquiries and sharing of experiences and recommendations for the effective application of the survey results in local policy-making and program planning,” Capanzana added.
This updating survey is a follow-up survey conducted every two to three years in between the National Nutrition Survey which is administered by the FNRI every five years. (CLJD/MJLS-PIA 3)
